2.2 EDA Statement
EDA Statement
Dear EDA members,
You will have read in the December journal that our chairman/treasurer Ian Caws died on 11 October. The journal editor Paul Braithwaite and president Graham Young have resigned, and I shall not be continuing as secretary beyond next March.
The association is therefore in a critical state, and the December executive committee meeting has been held by email to discuss the best way forward. If matters are not resolved at the AGM then we may have to continue as essentially an online organisation. We need all our members to consider if they can help in any roles within the organisation and if you are in any way interested don’t hesitate to contact a member of the committee.
The executive committee has decided that all currently paid up members will be granted free membership until the AGM on 1 April in order to retain their voting rights, so please do not send any money.
In early March I shall be sending out an agenda for the AGM together with proposals, so if you have any to put forward please do so by 1 March.
Please note that the British Open Championship will definitely go ahead from 30 March to 3 April as advertised.
Ken Lovell, Hon Sec, on behalf of the Committee
